Ultra-Precise Spectrum Analysis for DWDM, OSNR, and Modulated Optical Signals

Coherent Detection–Based Optical Spectrum Analyser

The ID OSA is a high-performance optical spectrum analyser built on advanced coherent detection technology, delivering exceptional accuracy and speed for modern photonics applications. Designed for maximum versatility, it offers picometer-class spectral resolution across the C-band and L-band, making it ideal for DWDM systems, coherent optical communications, and laser characterisation. Full-resolution spectral scans are completed in as little as 0.5 seconds, enabling fast and repeatable optical measurements.

Wide Dynamic Range for Low- and High-Power Signal Analysis

To accommodate diverse signal conditions, the ID OSA features two optical input ports with different sensitivity levels, significantly extending its measurement capability. This architecture provides a total dynamic range of more than 90 dB, allowing accurate analysis of low-power optical signals as well as high-power DWDM bands within the same instrument. This eliminates the need for external attenuators and simplifies optical spectrum testing workflows.

Compact, Rugged Design for Lab and Production Use

Engineered for reliability, the ID OSA features a compact and robust design with no moving parts, ensuring long-term stability and minimal maintenance. Its solid construction makes it ideally suited for both optical research laboratories and high-throughput production testing environments. By combining high resolution, fast scan speed, and wide power handling, the ID OSA delivers a dependable optical spectrum analysis solution for telecom, datacom, and photonics manufacturing applications.

ID OSA delivers 2.5 pm resolution for C/L-band DWDM, OSNR, and modulation testing. A compact, cost-effective solution. Engineered for precision, speed, and usability, the ID OSA delivers advanced functionality in a compact, maintenance-free design. Whether used in R&D, manufacturing, or network operations, it offers exceptional value and performance. The ID OSA is purpose-built for various optical network and photonics testing applications. Its compact design, high resolution, and remote control capabilities make it ideal for R&D labs and production environments.

The ID OSA is purpose-built for various optical network and photonics testing applications. Its compact design, high resolution, and remote control capabilities make it ideal for R&D labs and production environments.

High-Resolution Spectral Analysis

The ID OSA offers picometer-class resolution (2.5 pm), enabling fine-grained spectral characterisation of optical signals. Whether the user is tuning narrow-linewidth lasers or verifying spectral purity, this tool provides the clarity and accuracy needed for demanding optical analysis tasks.

DWDM Transport Testing

Designed to support Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) environments, the ID OSA allows network engineers to verify channel spacing, detect crosstalk, and optimise signal performance. Its wide scan range across the C and L bands ensures compatibility with all major ITU grid systems.

OSNR Characterization

With a dynamic range greater than 50 dB and dual input ports, the ID OSA enables precise Optical Signal-to-Noise Ratio (OSNR) measurements — a key performance indicator in both metro and long-haul fibre networks. Accurate OSNR data helps operators assess network health and predict potential failure points.

Modulated Signal Characterisation

As optical networks shift toward coherent modulation formats like QPSK and 16-QAM, accurate spectral insight becomes vital. The ID OSA supports modulated signal diagnostics, allowing you to measure bandwidth usage, evaluate signal shape, and analyse sidebands or distortion in advanced modulation schemes.

Transceiver Testing

Validate the performance of optical transceivers across varying power levels using the ID OSA’s dual input ports. It provides critical data on centre wavelength, spectral width, and signal integrity, helping manufacturers ensure compliance with industry standards before deployment.

 Network Monitoring and Maintenance

With browser-based remote access and a compact form factor, the ID OSA is ideal for real-time monitoring of optical networks. Continuously track wavelength drift, power fluctuations, or channel degradation, and use the analyser as part of a proactive maintenance strategy or live fault detection system.
